A Model for Colour Prediction of Halftoned Samples Incorporating Light Scattering and Ink Spreading

چکیده
This study introduces new models and mathematical formulations describing the light scattering and ink spreading phenomena. Based on these new theoretical tools, the spectra of 100 real paper samples produced by two ink-jet printers were computed with an average prediction error of about in CIELAB.

A Unified Model for Color Prediction of Halftoned Prints
This study introduces a new model and a new mathematical formulation describing the light scattering and ink spreading phenomena in printing. The new model generalizes the classical Kubelka–Munk theory, and unifies it with the Neugebauer model within a single mathematical framework based on matrices. Results like the Saunderson correction, the Clapper–Yule equation, the Murray–Davis relation an...
متن کاملSpectral prediction and dot surface estimation models for halftone prints
We propose a new spectral prediction model as well as new approaches for modeling ink spreading which occurs when printing ink layer superpositions. The spectral prediction model enhances the classical ClapperYule model by taking into account the fact that proportionally more incident light through a given colorant surface is reflected back onto the same colorant surface than onto other coloran...
متن کاملInk-Jet Printing Cotton with Cationic Reactive Dye Based Inks
The current commercial application of ink-jet reactive inks to cotton fabrics has been through pre-treating with pad liquor prior to printing. In This study made an effort to provide a single phase ink-jet printing process for printing cotton fabric using the novel cationic reactive dye in ink’s formulation. Cotton fabric was printed upon with the novel cationic reactive dye and commercial anio...
متن کاملA Comparison between Kubelka-Munk and Geometric Models for Prediction of Reflectance Factor of Transparent Fibers
The reflectance factors of transparent fibers, free delustering agent, are predicted by geometric as well as Kubelka-Munk models.
Transparent fibers are simulated by a net of glass capillary tubes containing different solutions of dyestuffs. Based on the results, prediction of the reflectance factor of capillary net by geometric model is relatively better than those obtained from Kubelka-Mu...
